Genius Kitchen Essentials You Probably Don't Have but Should

Kitchen & Dining

There are a million kitchen gadgets out there designed to accomplish a single job that you can probably just do with a regular knife (and said gadget is available to you for the low, low price of $32!). I’m not here to tell you about those. What I am here to tell you about are 2 little genius gadgets that do bring something super useful to the table. And 3 other kitchen must-haves that I love. Indulge me.

Stainless Steel Rocker Garlic Press

Stainless Steel Rocking Garlic Press - $23.98

I hurt my hand recently and, until now, I didn't realize that I needed this Rocking Garlic Press. I couldn't fully push the two handles together on my regular garlic press. With this Rocking Garlic Press, you only need one hand and it doesn't take much pressure to get the same result. Genius.

Stainless Steel Blade Grater & Zester - $11.23

Lately, a lot of my recipes have called for lemon zest or lime zest (we've been leaning towards a more Mediterranean way of eating) and, whilst I love my big cheese grater, it was cumbersome and a little bit messy for small things like lemon zest or nutmeg. So I finally broke down and bought this nifty zester/grater. You can zest or grate right over your bowl or pan and it's grate (LOL - great) for nutmeg, chocolate, parmesan cheese and more.

Over The Sink Retractable Chopping/Cutting Board - $36.37

We live in a 675 sq. ft. cottage - space is definitely a problem. That's why I love this idea. You can wash your produce in the handy kitchen strainer on the one side and chop them on the other, freeing up counter space for other things. When you're done, it retracts for easy storage.

Set of 3 Reusable Silicone Vacuum Storage Bags - $25.99

Leftovers are a thing in our house. Also packed breakfasts and lunches. I make soups and salads ahead of time and freeze them (the soups, not the the salads :) ) for us to take to work throughout the week. I used to use plastic bags and containers until I discovered these babies. I love that they are reusable which eliminates the need for me to buy single-use lunch/freezer bags, and they don't take up as much space in my tiny kitchen as plastic containers do. I also love that I can heat up leftovers in them and then toss them in the dishwasher. Less work for me! And it reduces our carbon footprint and keeps plastic out of our landfills.

4-Piece Popsicle / Ice Cream Mould - $12.96

Popsicles aren't just for kids anymore. "Poptails" are a thing and perfect for summer backyard parties. Click here for some Poptail recipe ideas and enjoy!
